Skiing the Andes
2008 saw the Santa Rosa storm arrive right on schedule for the last week of August, dumping over two metres (7 feet!) of snow in some areas. The skiing at Las Lenas was described by many as ‘best ever’ powder and the skiing around Bariloche was epic for a month afterwards.
Our trips typically take in a little of both sides of the Andes with a week in each of Chile and Argentina. The skiing is great in both countries. Most trips seem to demand a healthy gastronomic content to see the difference between the two countries’ kitchens. No one seems to be able to decide between the amazing seafood in Chile and the world’s best beef in Argentina. Between it’s old world charm, night life and architecture, it is hard to miss a stop in the ‘Paris of the South’ – Buenos Aires
